Sorting!
So, everyone at this point knows about Sorting characters by the Hogwarts Houses from Harry Potter (I think at this point even people who have never read or watched Harry Potter know their Hogwarts House.)
But of course that's not the only option! There are lots of other ways to sort.
You can sort your characters by:
- Hogwarts House (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff)
- Hept/Hexarchate faction (Rahal, Andan, Shuos, Nirai, Vidona, Kel, Liozh)
- Great Houses of Westeros (Targaryen, Stark, Lannister, Arryn, Tully, Greyjoy, Baratheon, Tyrell, Martell)
- Cultivation sects (Wen, Lan, Jiang, Jin, Nie, + various smaller sects)
- Camp Half-Blood Cabins (Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Ares, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Hermes, Dionysus, + the lesser gods.)
- The Nine Houses from the Locked Tomb (1-9)
- Vampire: The Masquerade clans (Brujah, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue, etc.)
- The Houses of the Court of Night-Blooming Flowers (Alyssum, Balm, Bryony, Camellia, Cereus, Dahlia, Eglantine, Gentian, Heliotrope, Jasmine, Mandrake, Orchis and Valerian)
- Districts of Panem (1-13)
- Divergent factions (Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Candor, Amity)
What am I leaving out? What other fictional canons have built-in Sorting?
(Me, I keep trying to put MDZS characters into Heptarchate factions, but I always run up against the fact that Nirai Wuxian would inevitably agree to be one of Hexarch Kujen's backup hosts, and then I just get sad.)

The Nine Houses of the Veil from Ninth House (Lethe, Skull & Bones, Scroll & Key, Berzelius, St. Elmo’s, Book & Snake, Wolf’s Head, Aurelian and Manuscript)
Also DnD classes could be fun.

Actually pretty much any TTRPG has classes and races and sorting mechanisms.
