I'd say 8 fics counts as prolific! My general impression is that most fic authors write max 5 stories per year with about 2 of them for the same ship. 'Numbers go up' motivation really compounds over time and adding to that for me is the motivation to 'colour' the AO3 ship tag with fics of different ratings 😂
