The compelling bit in this game is that the countries have certain national stereotypes, but also, underlying that is a more complex series of social circumstances. It's an imperfect piece of worldbuilding, but compelling enough to make me want to tinker and play with it. And the game is RPG-like in that the beginning states are a bit like RPG classes, so that's another aspect to think of.
Curiously, the thing that's most compelling to me about writing sorting systems isn't being able to sort myself and my friends, but that it gives me an excuse to color-code characters, which helps cement them in my mind. Assigning colors to things just helps me make order in my thoughts somehow.
